Day Two

Morning Energy Level: Low - I definitely was not feeling great this morning. Feels like I may be coming down with something, or I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow :)

Despite the low energy level I actually did pretty well running. According to Runkeeper I set several records:

  • Farthest Distance: 6.53 miles
  • Longest Duration: 1:09:13
  • Most Calories Burned: 1350
  • Fastest Average Pace: 10:36 min/mi

I actually ended up setting a personal record as well. After the first mile I decided I simply keep running (instead of walking for a few hundred feet to cool down then running again). I do want to try and run a 5K right?

I ended up getting to two miles right at 20 minutes before slowing down to walk. It doesn't seem like much but that is ~64% of a 5K right there. When my wife and I walked the Color Run in Lansing last year it took a little over an hour if I remember right. The fact that I could probably complete a 5K in a little over 30 minutes at this point is amazing to me.

I don't expect to run like this every day, partially due to time constraints since I'll likely be running in the evenings. I may end up trying to wake up earlier and run in the morning though to "kick start" my day. We'll see how I feel after a week or two since I've progressed from 2-4 miles to over five at this point in about a month.
